Editing JavaScript files

JavaScript can be edited in HyperEdit as a linked file, and the changes will be seen in the preview window.

Note: It is a good idea to set HyperEdit's refresh trigger in the options palette to a delay or to manually, because an infinite loop may inadvertently result in the writing of a for or while loop. If an infinite loop occurs, force quit HyperEdit.

Debugging JavaScript code

HyperEdit can also be used for debugging Javascript. If Safari 3.1 or later is installed, HyperEdit will make use of Safari's Web Inspector which will show any console.log messages and errors in code.

Press the JavaScript button to open the Safari Web Inspector and then click on Console to see Javascript Messages.
