Power Up with
Tumult Hype 3.5

We’ve listened to your feedback and added features that will improve how you build animations+interactions and increase their visual quality.

Free update from 3.0 Standard and Pro.

Waypoint Actions

[Pro] Run actions/timelines in response to elements entering or exiting the viewport from a visitor scrolling to that point.

Backdrop Filters

Use blurs and various blend effects on layers below the target element. This is especially useful reproducing iOS visual styles for prototyping. (Safari 9/iOS 9 only)

Hype Reflect 2.0

[Pro] Hype Reflect automatically gains a new responsive preview mode and will adopt a matching light/dark UI theme.

Monotype Fonts

Access over 50,000 high quality web fonts from Fonts.com for your creations. Many are royalty-free or you can login to your account at export for appropriate licensing.

Advanced Export

[Pro] Slices control exactly what scenes, layouts, and resources are exported. Other options minimize footprint and follow standard patterns for Rich Media ads.

Scale Transformation

With CSS Scale Transforms, elements and text can smoothly resize. Edit via the Metrics Inspector or transform mode by holding down the command key when dragging resize handles.

New Flexible Layout Modes

Uncheck all pins for a proportional position and scale mode. You can also leverage Scale Transformations via the “Zoom Contents” checkbox.

Alpha Colors

Use partially transparent colors for shape backgrounds/gradients, drop shadows, and text shadows.

Smoother Animations

The Hype Runtime can now make use of fractional pixel values during animations to make slow animations appear buttery-smooth, especially on Retina displays.

Better Video Export

Video, Animated GIF, and PNG Sequence will now allow exporting at 50 and 60 frames per second. The image resolution can also be increased for Retina @2x purposes.

Timeline Magnification

Zoom further into the timeline for more precise control and zoom all the way in to use a special single frame mode.

Show/Hide Elements

Set elements to display as visible or hidden instantly. This removes them from receiving mouse events.

Ignore Pointer Events

Remove an element like a large group from receiving clicks and touches (even when visible) so that other items underneath it will still work.

Spacebar Panning/Zooming

Use familiar methods of navigating a document such as holding down the spacebar to pan while dragging the mouse, or Spacebar-Command-Click to zoom in and Spacebar-Option-Click to zoom out.

Drag-Select Lock/Visibility States

Quickly turn locks and visibility states for multiple elements on and off by simply dragging over the icons in the element list.

Keyboard Shortcuts

All new shortcuts for:

  • Inserting elements
  • Zooming the scene
  • Zooming the timeline
  • Toggling guides and grids

JavaScript Getter/Setter API

New API functions allow manually setting many element properties (like z-index) in a way the Hype Runtime is aware. Animated transitions are also possible.

Timeline Control

The Continue Timeline action now has an option to restart the timeline. The Control Timeline action for On Drag events allow manipulating the drag speed (100px = 1s).

System Font

For iOS, instead of hard-coding Helvetica, Helvetica Neue, or San Francisco, use the System Font option to always use the correct font for the OS.

More Document Sizes

Quickly set the size of your document to the iPad Pro or Apple Watch.

OS X 10.11 El Capitan

Tumult Hype 3.5 will run on OS X 10.8 or later and has many tweaks to run optimally on the latest release of OS X 10.11.
